Your Vancouver Invisalign Dentist
What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is an effective method for straightening teeth using clear aligners instead of wires and braces. Invisalign® is often preferred over braces because it allows people to straighten their teeth discreetly without anyone knowing they are doing it. The aligners are also removable and much more comfortable to wear compared to braces.
How Does Invisalign® Work?
If you decide that you would like to try Invisalign®, first you will need to have a consultation with your Invisalign-certified dentist to determine if you are a good candidate. While Invisalign® works for most cases, there are some exceptions. Contact your dentist to learn more.
Once it is determined that you are a good candidate, your dentist will fit you for your first set of aligners. This is done by using advanced computer technology to create a 3D image of your teeth and make a custom set of aligners just for you. Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment. You’ll wear a set of aligners for approximately two weeks, after which you will receive a new, slightly different aligner.
With each set of aligners you receive, your teeth will move slightly until they reach the desired position. The entire process usually takes a total of about 11 months, but it depends on your particular case and how much your teeth need to be straightened.
