If you are considering going to the dentist, you should always search “reviews for dentists In Vancouver” or a similar phrase like “reviews for dentists near me.” But why do reviews matter?

Reviews are the only way that you can assess the quality of a dentist from the standpoint of the patient. Sure, as a medical professional you might be able to get an idea of a dental office’s quality by the educational credentials that they boast or as a marketer you might be able to get a good idea of the office’s quality based off of their digital presence — but as a patient, all you have is the word of other people that have already experienced a visit to that particular dental services provider.

Because of this, we see it fit to give you an idea of how to best analyze the reviews that dental offices have online. In the following post, we will discuss what to look for in positive reviews, how to analyze negative reviews, and how to make a decision based off of the reviews that you have read.

Considering What “Five-Stars” Really Means

Most review platforms operate on a five-star basis, with a five-star review being a sign that the dental provider offers excellent services. But a five-star review does not always mean that the dental care provider has an impeccable track record with its patients. Some dental care providers might feel compelled to ask their customers to give them a review as they end their appointment.

If the dental care provider asks all of their clients to rate their services online, but the customer is generally uninterested, you might see a long list of anonymous five-star reviews with no additional context as to why the experience was good.

Legitimate five-star reviews are often accompanied by long, thoughtful, statements that describe to others why the experience was so great. Take, for instance, the following review that someone felt compelled to write about Hazel Dell Dental Care’s very own — Doctor Lyle Kelstrom.

Gordy – Google Reviews (Five-Star Review)

“Dr. Kelstrom and his staff are the epitome of excellent family dentistry. His staff is friendly, efficient and very good at what they do. From my very first visit until now, I have always felt welcome, comfortable and in good hands. If you have any fear of dentists, you can very much expect that to become a thing of the past. Dr. Kelstrom takes the time to answer questions and gets to know each patient. His staff enjoys working with him and it shows. His experience is deep and he simply makes dentistry look easy.”

Before we move on, we would like to thank Gordy for the kind words. We are very happy that you feel comfortable visiting us here at Hazel Dell Dental Care.

As you can tell from Gordy’s review, our dental care office is proven to be highly qualified and accommodating to our patients. If you don’t believe Gordy, check out what other Google Reviews users have to say by clicking here.

Taking Poor Reviews Into Consideration

While positive reviews reign supreme, it is extremely important to take negative reviews with a grain of salt. For some, they simply see a negative review on a Google Reviews page and bounce to a different dental care provider.

While we have a five-star average, we would like to point out that sometimes business’s review platforms are compromised by people that leave poor reviews with no explanation while having never actually visited their office. A telltale sign that this is the case is when a business replies to a poor review either trying to find out why their experience was bad or with the comment “We have no record of your being a past customer of ours, but if there is anything that we can do for you please reach out to us.”
